Welcome!

UCF Allies is a program created through the UCF Counseling Center and now in collaboration with The Office of Diversity Initiatives for UCF students, staff and faculty members interested in showing visual support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or Questioning (GLBTQ) persons at the university. Allies are willing to provide acceptance, a safe haven, a listening ear and/or support to a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender persons, or to someone who is questioning or exploring their sexual identity. An Ally will also be open to answering questions or refer you to someone who can.

All Allies will have attended a training workshop called an "Advance" to learn about about oppression, heterosexism, homophobia, the coming out process and the benefits and responsibilities of being an ally. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the previous topics are welcome to attend an Allies Advance. They are open to everyone.
